Zaffa

In the Arab culture, the zaffa is a musical procession of bendir drums, bagpipes, horns, and belly dancers. This announces that the wedding reception is about to begin.

You cannot miss a ZAFFA. They are so noisy; you can hear them from a distance! They play rhythmic popular music, with horns blasting and a large group of people noisily clapping and singing. Customarily, there is also the women's distinctive 'shriek' of traditional joy. We specialize in Egyptian, Moroccan, Palestinian and Syrian Zaffa.
